NServiceBus is moving forward. The trunk version now targets the .NET Framework 4.0 by default.

News

  • Upcoming conferences and courses – Udi Dahan has posted an updated list of upcoming conferences and courses. Many of them include NServiceBus in one way or another.
  • Trifork Geek Nights – Mookid will give an introduction to messaging in .NET with NServiceBus in Trifork Geek Nights in November and December.
  • Project Changes - Current revision: 1369. Last week brought as over ten new revisions. Some highlights include: “Support for send only endpoints” and switch to .NET Framework 4.0 as the default target framework.

  • Biztalk integration with NServiceBus - Highly interesting question by shawn. Udi jumps in and points out that some of the interoperability issues between NServiceBus and Biztalk has been fixed in the 2.5 version.
  • New NSB user - architectural/design questions - Couple interesting answers to this architecture related question. What is a system and what is a service? Read on to find out.
  • Design/guidelne - Similar to the previous question, this one deals with the architecture of NServiceBus systems.

  • Win Service getting permission denied to Message Queuing- For those users struggling with the NServiceBus in Windows 7 environment. Bob The Janitor found a solution to his own problem by modifying the permissions.
  • NServiceBus and .Net 1.1 – Vijay would like to use NServiceBus with .NET Framework 1.1. Unfortunately that’s not supported. Ducttapeman points out a really good reason for upgrading your 1.1 applications to a newer framework: Microsoft is not supporting the 1.1 version anymore.

  • Project Changes - Current revision: 1349. Developer team is keeping it going, adding a total of 13 new revisions into the NServiceBus repository. Highlights are the simplified Full Duplex sample in the 2.5 branch and bug fixes related to the testing library. Check out the repository history to get all the details.

  • Extending NServiceBus - Moukarram Kabbash takes an interesting look on the subject of extending NServiceBus. In the process he creates a solution which allows to compress the delivered messages in order to save bandwidth. Though he also points out that NServiceBus is missing a one crucial interface: IMapIncomingTransportMessages.
  • NServiceBus Distributor: Replying to client from the worker - Small tutorial which shows how the workers are able to deliver the replies back to the client when NServiceBus distributor is in use.
